DYING TO DIVORCE is a brand new observational film following the work of Ipek Bozkurt, a female activist and lawyer fighting against domestic abuse and the murder of women in Turkey. In 2015, nearly four hundred women were killed; the majority were seeking a divorce or separation. Through Ipek, we meet three brave women rebuilding their lives after devastating attacks by their husbands and witness how men are using ‘she provoked me’ as a legal excuse for horrific violence.

The film is a collaboration between director Chloe Fairweather, producer Sinead Kirwan,  Tigerlily Productions and The Fuller Project For International Reporting based in Istanbul. We are currently fundraising for this project in order to continue filming and share this amazing story. We hope this film will be a tool for education and to get the voices of the women affected by this issue to an international audience. Please DONATE NOW to help us make this happen
